Vintage Thursday Thingie: watercolor

This is a watercolor page from an illustrated book. I think its Persian but I'm not sure. I bought it at an antique store over 30 years ago and I just don't really remember what I was told...I just love the way it looks. Its like a quick sketch with a wonderful liveliness to the lines and the paint. I just love the flowers.
Now, eat your hearts out ladies...the Ultimate Sewing Tools Collection...
from 17th century Jamestown, the first permanent English settlement in what became the USA, as reported in the archaeological report from the 1950s excavation. Just a little sewing history memorabilia for the 4th of July!
Have a Happy 4th of July!

I like the painting - so simple and beautiful.
The tools - wow - look how bent up those needles are! but so surprising is that they were found.

That's a very nice illustration. At first I was wondering what all those bent things were!

That was kind of mean to show sewing tools from Jamestown and not tell how you came by them!

They are totally cool.

Alas, the Jamestown sewing tools are not mine! The photo is from the archaeological report of the excavations in the 1950s. I just thought it was something nice to add for the 4th of July!

Wow, how rudimentary the tools. I cannot imagine! Imagine making a flag and darning socks with those.
I love your watercolor; the simple flowy lines are great, how come my lines don't flow like that?

Beautiful print. Those old sewing items just prove that no matter the condition, vintage/old is still cool.

Lovely watercolor picture! It is amazing how little thimbles and scissors have changed from the Jamestown times.
I had constant difficulties with internet on Thursday and Friday, and a busy weekend so I'm trying to visit the rest of the VTT blogs later.
