When I first drafted the elephant block, I used it in this quilt-a stroller or carriage size baby quilt.

Here's the quilt from earlier this week

Enjoy the pattern...I'd love to see pictures of any quilts using this elephant block.
This blog is a look at my life and activities as a quilter, quilt teacher,ex-pat and mother with an eye to the humor in our lives and our work.

Thanks Miri. I have not seen an elephant block and was admiring your work. I will have to try my hand at making one.

thank you for sharing, fabulous block, I must now find someone to make it for.
Miri, I saw your elephant block linked somewhere but now I forget just where it was. (I'm helpful, aren't I?) I wish I was a quilter so I could use this.
Found it! It was on Craft Gossip's Needlework News blog. http://needlework.craftgossip.com/free-patterny-goodness/2009/03/26/

Such a great pattern! I just found this a short while ago and made 20 elephants today for a baby quilt for a pregnant friend. Thank you! (And thank you for picture directions - I love those way more than lots and lots of words.)
This is absolutely gorgeous! I love the hearts :) I featured this on my blog today, http://mothercrafter.wordpress.com/2011/08/11/stimulus-baby-quilts/
Thank you for sharing.
It took a while (both to finish the quilt and get the baby born!), but my version of your elephant quilt is finally done. You can see it here: http://katiemaytoo.blogspot.com/2011/08/denniss-quilt.html
Thanks again for such a well-written, free pattern.
I tried to get the pattern, but it didn't come. Did you remove it or am I just not doing it right? I would love to have it.
