Two Pillows Finished!

I finally finished up these two pillows. This first one, a string quilt project for the String Quilt Challenge at Loft Creations, was delayed by my never finding the time to finish up the embroidery but at last its done-before Spring is over! This punchneedle (the design is from a vintage Pennsylvania quilt) has been waiting even longer to be finished...about a year! I like the cute little plaid ruffle. This looks great on a dark wood chair and also on the new slipcovers on our sofa.
I'm linking today to Finished for Friday at Lit and Laundry and to Sew and Tell at Amy Lou Who. Stop on by both and see the wonderful projects finished this week!

Love those pillows! I keep thinking I'm going to do a string something or another but haven't yet!

I'm in love with the string pillow with embroidery! I like the edge detail too...not corded but sort of a mini-flange; how awesome is that! The punch needle pillow is brilliant too!

They are both pretty but I LOVE the first one. Nice to hear too, that you don't finish things for a long time occassionally. I have a pile of unfinished projects.

that is one way to use up scraps - pillows do not need much do they.

Wonderful projects! I have so many scraps I really need to try a string quilt project. I love the embroidery and the colors of yours! And the punch needle is wonderful - and FINISHED! Yeah! Round of applause for you. Thanks so much for linking up to Finished for Friday and congratulations on checking these off your list.

It might of taken you a while to finish them up but the look really great!

Great pillows both! I'll admit the embroidery caught my eye. I admire those who can do embroidery in addition to quilting. It just adds such dainty-ness to a project.

Great job on the pillows. Love the tiny red stripe in the middle of the first.

Thanks for visiting my blog. I have enjoyed my visit to your blog today. Your quilting is gorgeous. I love both your pillows but the first one is my favorite. Quilting is something I would love to get into one day when I have more time. Until then I try to grab my cross stitch now and then.
Best Wishes from England.

I am far behind on my stringquilt Challenge, sorry to say so, but I have been busy with Ufo's all spring ;-))

These are both really beautiful! We live overseas, too, and I'd like to do a Mozambican theme quilt eventually. I could use a seasoned quilter by my side through the process...
