Another Scrap Quilt Finished
Do you see it...the sandy shore, the grassy hills, the waves, the islands and all the ships about? Its a lap-sized wedding quilt for a couple that love to scuba dive!He even proposed under water ! The waves are machine quilted with blue thread, of course!
If I had more nerve, I'd have called it Islands in the Stream. :)
I like it! Also I like how you did not over do the machine quilting - some people put so much machine stitching in it that I feel it would be kind of stiff? or does that not happen? Karen http://karensquilting.com/blog/
Too much machine quilting can make a quilt stiff. In this case, I thought about a second line of waves but I was afraid I didn't have enough blue thread! :) It still wouldn't have been alot of quilting, just a bit more.
Yes....I can see it.....well, I'm still just hand quilting...but I've been practicing some machine quilting....ooouuu I am still uncertain!! You have done a good job with yours!
I have been quilting for 19 years, teaching for about 15 and enjoying every minute of it. We now live overseas and I love how quilting is now worldwide. I sometimes hand and sometimes machine quilt

Lovely quilt! I like the simple waves, and the scrappy fabrics.
Beautiful! What a special gift for them! And now I am caught up on your blog again. It was fun to catch up and see what you have been up to lately.
I love scrap quilts... This one is a great gift.
Miri, it is SO pretty! Actually the scrappy squares look a lot like some of the nautical flags.
Very happy cheerful looking scrap quilt. They will be so pleased to receive it as a gift. Nicely done. :)Bea
