Drunkard's Path Quilt Top Finished!

My drunkard's path quilt top/flimsy is finished! I thought about the border all summer and I'm so glad at how it turned out. Its really a happy quilt! I'm planning on basting it on Tuesday (DH plays bridge in the morning so the floor will be mine) and now I'm thinking about how to quilt it...any ideas?

The Drunkard's Path was really easy...the large curves were a cinch to sew. I used the Marta Michell templates (that I won in a give away at Quilts...etc) and you can see my tutorial here. Rotary cutting the pieces was so much faster than drawing around a template and then cutting with scissors.

I'm linking to Finished for Friday at Lit and Laundry and Sew and Tell at Amylouwho. Stop by there and see all the lovely finishes for this week.

this is so happy and sunshiney and joyful! beautiful!

why not stitch the outside of the yellow curved pieces on their lines and fill in the white spaces with denser quilting? it would showcase the yellow, make it pop even more!

thanks for such a happy sew and tell quilt!

Beautiful...love the color combo too. Are you using yellow for the back, or a different color?

Your quilt is beautiful, Miri. I love the border, very nice. I wonder if you'll outline the path or meander up to the path leaving it smooth. You always find the prettiest way to quilt them.

Very sweet and happy. Yellow isn't used enough. Great job!

So pretty!!

Make the yellow pop with less dense quilting there.

Did you know the name comes from the prohibition period? I love the classic two color patterns.

Your quilt looks so warm and sunshiney. Love it. I have made one drunkards path block by hand as part of my sampler quilt. That was enough. i admire you for making a whole quilt with the block.

I have wanted to make a Drunkard's Path, it's somewhere on my list Miri. How will you quilt it? The border really set off the curves.

Your quilt is gorgeous! I love the color yellow, it's such a bright and cheerful color. I just heard that yellow is the new pink this year. Will stop in again to see how you quilt it. Happy stitching!
