Embroidery Mystery Quilt

Have I mentioned that I lead the Redwork Club at our LQS? To start the Fall off right, we're working on a mystery quilt and I'm, of course, making it right along with everyone else. These are the fabrics that I've chosen...these would have been perfect for last year's Black and White Challenge. They're all from my stash though the one on the left is a recent addition.
The embroidery theme is baskets...
and flowers. How do you like my black embroidery? I love it...I wanted to work in one color floss embroidery-it is so much quicker-and I've been thinking about black embroidery ever since the B & W Challenge and a quilt that I didn't make! :)

you do beautiful embroidery. That is something I need to practice on - I was thinking I might try to incorporate embroidery into some of my work this year. After I finish Dear Jane and clear up some other projects I need to do something in a totally different direction I think.

I love baskets and the black stitching is wonderful.....that's a color I hadn't thought to use, but now I'm definitely going to try it. I can't wait to see how this turns out -- your fabrics are so pretty.

Nan ("Love to Sew" on Flickr) has some wonderful transfers in her basket set:

Oooh, I LIKE the black embroidery. I've promised myself one of those for a long time, but I'm still struggling along on the Raggedy Ann redwork. :( Handwork is not my strong suit. However, it obviously IS yours!

Hey Miri: It was so much fun to be in a class with you teaching again. Really enjoyed myself. Am waiting for the Kaffe Fassett fabrics to arrive before I choose fabrics for my mystery quilt! Oooh! How exciting!
