Here you can see better the true colors of the fabrics.
As leader (and designer) of the mystery quilt I told the group that they needed 4 fabrics for the blocks plus one for the embroideries. I chose to use the same fabric-white-for one of the 4 block fabrics and for the embroideries. You can see how this mystery quilt looks with 4 different fabrics here-Barbie @ the Quilt Center posted hers earlier this month-scroll down one post to the May 3 post.

I have the batting...now I just need to decide on the backing and solve my border/binding dilemma. I don't want this to just go into the closet-I want to be inspired by all of you who actually finish your quilts!

Oh wow....that is one amazing quilt!! I love the black border!
Oooh! I love it! THis design really highlights those embroidered blocks! Great job!
Wow! I LOVE it!! Such a cool color combination with the black and white baskets. I think the black border looks great. I think a binding in that turquoise, if you've got any left, would be awesome.
How pretty it is, Miri! I love it. And the black border does POP out the embroidery. You might make the black narrower and add a blue one.
Beautiful quilt, Miri! I think the black border might be a little heavy. Maybe it would work better if the black border was narrower and you added a second border - one of the turquoise fabrics. Or use the textured black and white fabric for the border and the solid black as the binding.
Can't believe how different the two quilts are. Colour makes a huge impact obviously.
