New embroidered mystery quilt beginnings

I've started on the new embroidered mystery quilt for the Redwork Club I lead at the Quilt Center quilt shop. The theme this year is butterflies so using vintage embroidery patterns as my inspiration, I designed the blocks with butterflies and flowers sprays. Here are the first 4 blocks completed. This will be a nice scrappy quilt and I've chosen 30s reproduction fabrics. I love these cute bright fabrics and how well they go with colorful 30s style multi-colored embroideries.l

Oh, wow! This is going to be a beautiful quilt. I can tell already. Love how you've done the embroideries and you know I really, really like the '30's prints!

These are beautiful! I love 30s fabrics - they're so homey and comforting. I'm glad you're including the reds with the pastels. Not everyone does and I think they really pop.

I love the thirties-look of the blocks and the fabrics. In 2012, embroidery rules!

I'm so excited about starting a new project! Haven't had a chance yet, to delve into my scrap bag. Will do that this weekend. Meanwhile, I'm loving how my embroidery is coming along (if a bit slowly...)
