What do you do with the cut off batting after quilting or the extra bits after trimming a batt to fit your quilt top…you know those long, narrow pieces? How many potholders can you make, use or give away?

This blog is a look at my life and activities as a quilter, quilt teacher,ex-pat and mother with an eye to the humor in our lives and our work.

that's a good one. you know what I use the small pieces for too is to wrap up Christmas decorations and pack them away for the next year. It really helps to cushion them in the boxes.

That's brilliant, what a great idea, how clever are you. Thanks for passing that tip on to the rest of us xo
I sew the batting together with a faggoting stitch and use it in smaller projects like doll quilts or wall hangings.
I like this idea, but I have used my edge strips for a rag quilt, and for Quilt-as-you-go - quilts.
I like it! I am always looking for a good dusting rag and since I have pieces like this anyway might as well use them (it's a freebie).
I have done the same thing. Great minds thing alike. LOL
Great hint! (hmm...does that mean they are washable, thus re-usable? or is that being too frugal?)
And love karenfae's idea of wrapping Chrsitmas decorations!
Blessings & Aloha!
Thanks for the ideas!
