You simply boil together very finely ground coffee and water, often sugar is added too, then let the grounds settle a bit before pouring it into very small cups. It is quite strong! Once made over an open fire, the long handle helped the coffee maker not get burned.

And the Greek coffee is very good! I had one of those years ago, but never knew the name of it, I just called it a Greek coffee pot.

You always have the best vintage thingies! I've always wanted to try Turkish coffee, even though I know it's really strong. But with enough cream in it, it's probably quite good!

Hi Miri, your greek copper coffee heater is cool! But what really caught my eye when I opened your blog page was the quilts! I have had fun looking down through some of your older posts. I also took a look at the string quilt challenge... I"m too late to join that, but I think I"ll try making some of those just for fun.

I bet the coffee was the best....it was much used that is for sure! Great post and it is so fun seeing something new and learning of its use!!
My neighbour is from Cyprus and she makes me coffee this way. She always serves it along side a tall glass of water. i have a small stainless pot like this. i keep it for when my Greek Sister in Law visits. She really appreciates that I bought it for her to use.
