Vintage Thursday Thingie: Silver Cake Servers

This week I'm sharing two more pieces from my silver collection. I think that these are both cake servers although this first one may be a tomato server. Yes, there is such a thing! It has lovely Art Nouveau style open work and a very traditional pattern at the tip of the handle. This second one is a hinged cake server and also has some open work as well as a very sweet floral vine surrounding cross hatching. I love this piece...it makes me feel like it is time for tea whenever I look at it.

Both of these pieces are beautiful little works of art! I've thought about getting some silver pieces, but I just know that I wouldn't keep them polished, and that would be a wasteful shame. I'll just admire yours instead!
Happy VTT!

I bought something similar to the second thing because I thought it looked interesting and vintage. After searching the internet I saw a new one that looked just like mine. I think it is a pastry tongs.
