The blocks are all made up of leftover bits and pieces from different plaid quilts I made over the years- the two snail trail blocks are from a quilt I made in the early 90s.
Most of the quilting is straight line walking foot or free motion meandering but I really like what I did in some corner triangles-I "let myself go"-something I really need to do more of. I especially like this little squiggle I got coming off the concentric circles...
and this leaf.
I'm linking to Finished for Friday at Lit and Laundry and Sew and Tell at Amylouwho. Hop on over there and see all the terrific finishes for this week.

Thanks for sharing! My first quilting is much worse than this so I'm impressed! I found you over at Lit and Laundry linky party
Your quilt is beautiful, with some very demanding blocks in it. I can understand you felt exhausted after finishing the machine quilting. The excitement was gone, so no need to do the routine part of binding the quilt, if it wasn't going anywhere. You can be proud of the finished quilt today!
great to finally do a finish to it I bet. It looks really nice to me.

Great finish!
Beautiful finishing
Thanks for showing this, Miri. Since I'm beginning to quilt, it's nice see someone else's first efforts too. :) This is a really pretty quilt and I'm glad you finished it. I can just imagine some baby playing on it, studying the patterns, etc. Doing something with a snails trail block is on my list!
All right, Miri, I can not believe you did not finish this one. It is beautiful! I love all your creative stitching on the quilting.
Lovely quilt!
I love your color choices,Miri & I think it;s a terrific first machine quilting effort!
Now you have a baby quilt on hand!
thank you for showing us this beautiful quilt and the story behind it! I think it's perfect!
Such a beautiful quilt! I can't imagine why you didn't like it. So glad you found and finished it. :-)
What a lovely quilt!!
I just bought my first quilting foot yesterday and this has given me some courage to start!
Miri,
What a sweet quilt - love the colors.
Thank you for visiting my sew and tell, and leaving the kind comment. Please let me know if I can help in anyway as you delve more into free-motion quilting. :)
In stitches,
Wendy
Beautiful! Love that you are changing it up on the quilting. I am still limited to meandering so I love the inspiration!
I love this too, the colors, Miri are wonderful! I bet you are glad to have this finished at last!!! I'd just like the time to START something new!!! LOL Have a great weekend.
Yeah! This is what Finished for Friday is all about - getting those old unfinished projects done. It turned out great. Thanks so much for linking up.
I am so glad that you found this quilt and finished it. It is lovely and far too nice to be spending time in a dark closet.
beautiful finish
Lovely to finish this quilt that you learnt machine quilting on. The snail trail blocks are on of my favourites.
Beautiful quilt! I've never been brave enough to quilt, but I've always wanted to try. Thanks so much for visiting me!
The quilt is lovely.
You didn't think it was very good?! I'm so glad you reconsidered. It looks so nice!
Miri, wow, it looks great! Good job with the quilting too. Thanks for sharing!
